I found Adidas AdiStars (as they were originally called) back in 2002 or thereabouts, and every pair of casual sneakers I've bought since then has been these. This is the newest version, and while the cushion design has changed from elastomer (rubber with tiny nitrogen bubbles) to sort of a stretchy rubber-spring design, it really doesn't matter any -- it's lighter and it works just as well. I never could stand Nike Shox, I don't know why, they just weren't comfortable, but these are awesome. The key for me is that the heel cup is made of hard plastic, unlike normal sneakers that have foam heel cups, so it will never stretch and wear out. I've worn the soles off this kind of shoe more than once and they still felt brand-new inside.
Best shoe ever. Wish I could get them in Oxford leather so I could wear them to work too.
